I want Gingerale! That is all I want! I am sick, sick, sick...Problem is I don't know what I have. I think if it were the flu I would've been sick to my stomach by now. I've been like this for about 36 hours. I'm tired but not sleepy and I feel slightly nauseated...Hmm...wonder what it could be!
Oh, yay! I am getting Gingerale my wonderful landlady, Liz, just brought me a nice large glass of COLD Gingerale! So nice! Well, American Idol is on tv so I'm off to watch it!

Proper Shaving Technique straight from the Canadian Army to you!
Proper Shaving Technique
Shaving is an art; it is not instinctive knowledge. By refining your technique and using good quality products you can make shaving a pleasurable experience. Remember, how you shave affects the way you look and how you feel about yourself. Hot water is the first essential to a perfect shave. When the hair absorbs hot water it becomes softer and easier to cut. Warmth allows the skin and facial muscles to relax making shaving much easier – thus the best time to shave is after a bath or shower. Soaking a folded flannel or small towel in hot water and wrapping it around the face for thirty seconds or more can also achieve this effect. Those who desire a particularly smooth shave might wish to apply a glycerin-based skin food. This protects the skin and helps the razor to glide smoothly across the face. Massaging the skin food against the growth of the beard also helps to lift the beard in readiness for the lather.
Shaving cream may be rubbed into the beard with the fingers, but the best results are obtained when using a good quality shaving brush. When using cream, place a modest amount in the palm of one hand; dip the brush into hot water and rub in a circular motion in the palm of the hand. This is done to build up a rich lather on the brush.
Wet the face, then, using a circular motion again, apply the lather to the beard, allowing the brush to lift the beard, making the hairs stand proud. The brush may be dipped lightly into hot water if more moisture is required in the lather.
If using a shaving soap, dip the brush into hot water and use a similar circular motion on the soap to create a rich lather.
Using a good blade that has been warmed in the sink or under hot running water, shave the face in the direction of the beard growth, rinsing the blade in hot water frequently. NEVER shave against the grain of the beard. In awkward areas such as the chin and under the nose, the blade can be moved sideways across the growth, but never against as this pulls the skin in the wrong direction causing small cuts and grazing to the skin, which is the most common cause of razor burn, ingrown hairs, and shaving rash.
Rinse the face thoroughly with cool water and pat dry with a soft towel. A good wet shave exfoliates and cleanses the skin, leaving smooth new skin and a healthy clean appearance.
Newly exfoliated skin needs to be protected from the elements, so for healthy skin it is important that men use an aftershave moisturizer or skin food. Products containing alcohol should not be applied to the skin directly after shaving as this may inflame the skin and cause dryness.
For best results cologne and other fragrances should be applied to the hot spots on the face, behind the earlobes and on the side of the neck.

Valentines Day
Valentines day is coming...and here I am sitting alone very much like I will be on Valentines day...I wanted to throw a pity party (a party at which I sit and watch sappy movies and eat a lot of chocolate!) but Michelle thinks we should throw a single girls party..I think it'll be fun but I still want my pity party...it's a tradition, and it's fun because I get to eat LOTS of chocolate! So I shall either have to do both on Valentines day or I could just throw my party early! Although I have no time for that...Maybe I'll have a mini party this weekend and another one on Valentines day (that way I get even more chocolate!) Just so you know, I don't actually sit around and pity myself...it's really just an excuse to eat chocolate;) So anyways, this Valentines day I will probably be sitting around with a few other single girls watching "The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants" although I am trying to get that to change to "Just Like Heaven"

When in doubt, say "hooah." Just don't try to define it. And definitely don't try to figure out where it comes from.
I found this on CNN and thought it was just great!
In the U.S. Army -- which has so many acronyms, expressions and opaque phrases that it seems to deserve its own language -- there is one word that is quite possibly uttered more than any other.
That word is "hooah." Pronounced HOO-ah. Alternatively spelled hua and huah.
Attend a company command meeting, and you'll hear "hooah" uttered as often as a 15-year-old says "like" or "you know." Head to the post exchange and buy a Hooah Energy Bar or Hoo-Ahhs wet wipes or HOOAH2O water.
It's not just in Iraq. At U.S. bases around the world, hooah seems an inseparable element of Army life.
Just don't try to define it. And definitely don't try to figure out where it comes from.
"I believe it came from hurrah. It basically means everything from 'yes' and 'yes, sir,' to 'that's great,"' said Capt. James Lowe, public affairs officer for the 506th Regimental Combat Team. "You could use it as a generalized cheer. It's one of those multipurpose phrases -- when in doubt, say hooah."
That doesn't even begin to cover it.
They shout hooah to get motivated, and they whisper it when they concur with something someone just said. Hooah means you understood something, or is the proper reply when someone says "thank you." On the other hand, it may also be used to say "thank you."
Hooah is a catchall phrase that will get you out of any situation, particularly when receiving a scolding from a higher-ranking officer.
"You use it when you've got a flame on your butt and you're just trying to extinguish it," said Capt. Brian Buckner, 30, of Sumter, South Carolina.
Take this conversation, overheard recently outside the mess hall at Camp Rustamiyah, on Baghdad's eastern outskirts:
Soldier 1: How you doing?
Soldier 2: Fine. How you doing?
Soldier 1: Hooah.
'Air power!' doesn't have same punch
For the different branches of the military, each vastly competitive with and jealous of its distinctions from one another, hooah has become something of a sore point. Marines and sailors have their own saying, more of a "hoo-RAH" or a "hoo-yah," which they claim is entirely separate in origin.
The Air Force brass once reportedly got so irked about sharing "hooah" with the Army that it tried to get airmen to shout "Air power!" instead. But "Air power!" did not have the same potency as "hooah" and has been largely abandoned.
Sgt. Joe Carter, a 23-year-old from Kennett, Missouri, recalls how, after arriving at basic training, he and other young Army recruits attended a motivational talk from their commander.
"When we first got there, the commander gave a speech, and at the end he told us, 'I want to hear a loud and thunderous hooah!"' Carter said. "We were real pumped and amped up."
Yet the use of hooah by the uninitiated is generally frowned on. Carter recounted that a drill sergeant barred him and his fellow recruits from saying hooah until they had finished the basic course and earned the right.
And civilians uttering hooah are generally looked upon with either disdain or the astonishment of a person who has just heard a koala bear recite lines from e.e. cummings.
Where from, this 'hooah'?
As with any good word, the origins of hooah are highly disputed.
Some claim it derives from the military acronym HUA -- Heard, Understood, Acknowledged.
Another tale: When Army Rangers landed at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944, a sergeant ordered them to scale the cliffs looming above them and neutralize the German pillboxes perched on top. One soldier, aghast at the idea, responded, "Who, us?" Soldiers ended up following the order, in what became one of the most celebrated acts of World War II.
Then there's the theory that hooah comes from hurrah and hooray, themselves believed to be bastardizations of the sailor's cry "huzzah," which dates back to the 16th century.
With the Internet widening the forum for debate, blog entries suggesting definitions of hooah have been met with dozens upon dozens of comments from those who think they know better.
With all the derivations that exist, a few souls have tried to come up with an official meaning. One such half-serious, half-humorous definition, listed by the Urban Dictionary, reads in part: "U.S. Army slang. Referring to or meaning anything and everything except 'no.' Generally used when at a loss for words."
Lt. Col. Brian Winski, commander of the Army's 1st Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment, who sometimes says "hooah" so often it seems to have entered into his subconscious, isn't entirely satisfied with that definition, but says it will have to suffice.
"That's about right if you have to really box it in," he said. "I guess that's about as close as you could get."

Good times at school!
Funny thing happened on Monday. I was in the school caff with some of my friends and one of the "D.J.'S" (from freQ -the school music station) was asking people about this thing to do with bus passes and parking passes. So my friends and I thought that if we looked like we were studying he wouldn't come talk to us...We were wrong. He saw us and said "oh look, here are some girls who think if they look like they are studying I won't talk to them." So he came over and was asking what we thought of the pass. Two of them didn't care, I had "no comment" and the third was laughing to hard to say much:) But it was funny.

Well, after not working out since November, Michelle and I went skating yesterday for about an hour. SO MUCH FUN!!! I think everyone should go skating! We went with a couple of friends from school from 12:30-1:30 (free skate is from 12-2) So, there are about 10-12 people on the ice and we are all skating counter-clockwise and I ask WHY? Why does everyone skate counter-clockwise when they get on the ice? I thought about it and realized that if we always skate the same way then we are not allowing something in our brains to develop (just learnt what it is and now I forget) and our leg muscles would look funny because one leg works harder than the other. I thought I should do something about it. So I did! I stopped, turned around, and sterted skating CLOCKWISE! And whadda know...everyone copied me! Then I fell, and we left;)

Dibble History
Here's a cool little bit about my family history on my Mum's side.
Originally the Dibbles came from Germany and their last name was "Deffle" which in German means "Devil." So Adam Dibble, who was alive in the early 1800's, changed the family name to "Dibble." Then his son John came over to America and eventually settled in New York. People wanted to name the town after him but he refused so the town was named "Derby." John's son, Merton met his wife Lillian Townsend at a chapel in Derby and Merton and Lillian then had Raymond and Raymond had Spencer who is my Grandpa. So that's a very brief little history of my family and there are a few missing spouses I will fill in when I find out who they are!

My cousin Kevin!
I'm just "stealing" this from my sister's site...It's about my cousin Kevin (he's the one in the striped shirt with Me, Jessi and Angie -his cousins- in the picture in the previous post) I wonder how many other people would have stood up and defended their rights? Good for you Kevin!
NEW YORK FEDERAL JUDGE SAYS SCHOOL CAN’T BAR STUDENT FROM WEARING A PRO-LIFE SHIRTWed, Jan 11, 2006Ann Arbor, MI — A high school principal’s decision prohibiting a student from wearing his pro-life shirt in school has been overturned by a federal district court. Judge Elfvin of the Western District of New York signed a permanent injunction ordering Fillmore Central High School located in Fillmore, New York to allow the student to wear his pro-life shirt to school. The Thomas More Law Center, a national public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, represented the student.Richard Thompson, Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Law Center, stated: “This student courageously took a stand for his views and our constitution. The ruling is clear--public schools don’t have the right to silence the pro-life speech of students.”The student’s shirt is distributed by the American Life League’s Rock for Life group and displayed the following message: “Abortion is Homicide. You will not silence my message. You will not mock my God. You will stop killing my generation. Rock for Life.” Fillmore Principal Kyle Faulkner told the student that he could not wear his shirt in school. The student was sent home for the day when he respectfully replied that he had a right to wear the shirt. The student then contacted the Thomas More Law Center. The Law Center attempted to amicably resolve the dispute by sending a letter to school officials explaining that students have a First Amendment right to peacefully express their views at school. The United States Supreme Court has ruled that students do not shed their First Amendment rights at the schoolhouse gate. However, after school officials refused to acknowledge the student’s right to free speech, the Thomas More Law Center filed a lawsuit against his school for forcing him to remove his pro-life shirt and barring his free-speech rights. The Thomas More Law Center was assisted by Chris Ferrara, of the American Catholic Lawyers Association, who acted as local counsel. On September 6th, Judge Elfvin issued a preliminary injunction ruling that the student’s First Amendment rights had been violated, and ordered the school to allow him to wear his pro-life shirt to school until the lawsuit was resolved. This past December, Judge Elfvin permanently ordered the school to allow the student to wear clothing in school that expresses his pro-life message. The judge also ordered the school district to pay the student nominal damages. The judge awarded a total of $24,600 in attorneys’ fees to the two law firms.Julie Shotzbarger, Trial Counsel with the Thomas More Law Center, who handled the case, commented, “Students at Fillmore were allowed to wear all manner of shirts, including rock band shirts depicting bloody skulls, and shirts promoting sex, yet this public school singled out our client to silence his peaceful pro-life message.”

One test down! Five to go =(
Wow, I am done my worst test! It was 100 multiple choice and 12 true/false!!! Or something like that. It was no fun either way and I know my mark will be somewhere in the 70s. But that's ok because at least I'll be passing! It was my least favorite class and teacher so now everything so go a little better! I just felt like sharing the wonderful news about finishing a horrible test! I hope you all have a stupendous day!

CPR link!
I didn't know there was a limit on the posting size...I had quite a bit more written at the bottom of my last post and it didn't show up:( Here is a slightly different and shorty version! Here is that link I said I would post about CPR. I am fully certified now! I feel quite special! And I can also do First Aid! But, I really never want to do CPR because I find all that mouth-to-mouth stuff a little disturbing and icky;). But I'm fine with doing First Aid! So you can come to me for that! Anyways, that's all I want to post for now! Hope ya'll have a great night and wonderful dreams of A Marshmellow World!
YAY!!! Picture & Link!
I hope none of you saw this when it was just a title;) I accidently hit enter instead of shift;) Anyways, here is the picture of my lovely family taken a week ago:
Aren't we a lovely family? I'm not quite sure why I am all by myself in the front row...You'll have to ask Jessi, she arranged us all. But that is my lovely family that starting the Saturday I get to spend 3 weeks with! I won't have to make my own meals (I'll help with some of course), I'll get to play X-Box, watch movies, let my brain take a vacation for 3 whole weeks!!! Then, I have to come back to school and get my own meals together, make my next days lunch before I go to bed, get up super early...but I only have a total of 11 months of that left then I get to find a job and do a slightly different variation of all that. Then I will one day (hopefully) get married and have to make healthy meals and do everything for two people..ahhh the horrors of growing up!!! But then, maybe I'll marry a chef and have my work cut in half;) or maybe someone who enjoys housework...I'll just dream about that for now:-p Ok, I've gotta stop writting, I am rambling and when I do that I usually write something stupid, or embarrassing!

=( No picture
Well, I wanted to post a picture but it won't work:( I think it's because I am on a SUPER slow dial up connection at my home in the middle of nowhere;) I shall try sometime next week while I'm at my apartment with high speed internet!!! But you can use the link on the right side of this page that says "My Dear Big Sis" and look at the picture of the family that I want to post on this site!!!
Hmm...I have a CPR and First Aid course tomorrow and Sunday that I really don't want to take:( I'm looking CPR up on the internet so I know what I'm doing before I go:-p You can learn it too! Just go here - http://depts.washington.edu/learncpr/quickcpr.html -I'll change that to a little link when I am on a computer that will let me:-p Anyways, I must get going to bed...It is late and I am very tired.

Favorite Opera Song!
My favorite opera song is "Nessun Dorma" by the Italian composer Giacomo Puccini. I don't know how to set it as background music for this site. As soon as I figure it out I will!

Where to start?
Well, I haven't posted for 13 days. I guess I can think of someting to write about. Oh! Jessi and Paul came up for the weekend and I had no clue that they were coming! I was packing in my apartment to go home for the weekend and I turned around and saw Paul. Only it took a second for me to recognize him because he has hair and a gotee now. Then I looked the other way and there was Jessi! So exciting! I didn't get to hang out with them as much as I would've liked this weekend but it was great to see them! I had to babysit on Friday night then on Saturday morning I had to go to the eye Dr. (Uncle John) to get my eyes checked. I have 20/15 vision! My eye sight is in great demand ;) Saturday night I went with Paul and Jessi to the College and Careers Bible study. It was really interesting...but I didn't take any notes so I don't remember enough to post any of it here. On Sunday afternoon I came back to the apartment after Paul and Jessi left. So here I am, with two group projects to present tomorrow and greatly lacking in the area of sleep : I should go and try to fix that problem. I hope you all are having a wonderful whatever time of day it is!

Amazing Song! I love it!!!
You breathe and life begins
You speak and my world makes sense
That's how it is when it comes to You
Your mercy has no end
Your mercy has no end
You're more than just a friend
It amazes me You feel the way You do
I believe in You, and nothing less
I believe in You can't help myself
You're all the hope, the reason that I need
I believe in You just because
I don't need no one to prove Your love
For all that I have seen
It's easier for me to believe in You
You are so beautiful
You are so beautiful
You are the miracle
That dries the tears and heals the wounded hearts
And it's so clear to see
And it's so clear to see
Your hand in everything
You were there for me, there to see me through
Through the fire and through the rain
Through the fire and through the rain
I know Your love for me will never ever change

The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.
Wow! This weekend has been so cool! Yesterday was the Missionary Breakfast at Don Valley Bible Chapel. I went with my mum, because she said I might meet my husband… Well, if I have I have no idea… none of the guys there spoke to me:-p But it was really neat to hear the different missionaries speak about their work. There were Rob&Cecilia Russell from Uruguay, a team from Bridlegrove that went to Argentina, a DVD presentation of Saudi Arabia, Marjorie Beckwith from Angola, Bill&Paula Bierworth from Zambia, Fred&Jenny Kosin who travel all over and visit different missionaries, a DVD presentation of my Uncle Tom’s well drilling in Nigeria, John&Ruth Hanley from France, Mark&Gretchen Potma from Czech Republic and Richard&Marina Haverkamp from Belgium. I really enjoyed it! Mr. Kosin spoke about OM –Operation Mobilization – and now I REALLY want to go spend two years on one of the boats! Then today at Church we had missionary Sunday and Mr. Barham spoke this morning, then we listened to another report on Argentina, Catherine Premsler spoke on her time in Japan and South East Asia visiting her sister, and Mrs. Chuck spoke about her time in Jamaica. After that we went to two different “Elective Workshops” I went to the one on Papua New Guinea by Ralph and Sonja Merritt and then one by Cecelia Russell on “The Woman: ‘Crown of Creation.’ They were both really good! After that we watched the DVD on the well digging again then Nigel Barham spoke and he was really good. He brought up a good point on something I’d never thought of before. Jesus told us to “go” in the great commission but then in Acts 1:8 He said “But will you receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth.” So although God told us to “go” He also told us to wait until “…the Holy Spirit has come upon you…” I thought that was neat.I'd never really thought about it like that... I really want to go on the OM ships. I REALLY, REALLY want to go! My plan now is to finish school in 2007 then work for a year or two, so in about 2009 when I’m 23 I hope I can go on a ship. That seems so far away! But it’s only 3–31/2 years. So it’s not that bad. But I want to go for 2 years…so I’ll be 25/26 when I’m done the two years. Ahh!!!SO OLD!!! One last thing before I go do my homework. When Mr. Barham was speaking he said an old Chinese proverb that is SO true and important to remember: "The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing." NEVER lose sight of your goal. Never let go of God’s will. Keep it first and foremost in your mind and life at all times. Meditate on it and you will keep the main thing the main thing! (after the quote those are my words:-p)

Me last week!!!

I promised I would post a newer picture of myself on here...The picture on the left is the best according to me! But I decided to throw in an ugly picture of me too! Just for the heck of it. Here I am a week ago at Swiss Chalet. But now there is a difference. I personally gave myself a second earing in my left ear. I will do the right ear in a couple of weeks. If I did that now I wouldn't be able to sleep because I have to lie on one side and my ear hurts! Oh, and on the 30th I am going to get my hair all chopped off! My wonderful roommate Michelle get her hands on two $300 spa packages for $50 each and a hair cut is one of the things we get so I'm choppin'!!! Ok so I'm getting someone else to do that because I would look horrible if I actually did the choppin'.Anyways, so the picture is quite updated and I'll update again in about a month.
